Join artist Amanda D. King for a conversation about place, memory, and the act of cultural preservation through photography. In her series Leaden Circles, King turns to Cleveland’s summer landscapes, composing intimate, time-worn images that hold small histories—personal and shared—as fleeting visual fragments. Her work approaches the archive as a living process, where the ephemeral is held in focus alongside what is remembered. This talk considers how photography becomes an act of both presence and preservation, contributing to the evolving visual narrative of Black Cleveland life.

The talk will take place in the Junod Conference Room of the Cleveland History Center. Tickets are museum general admission - $15/adults; $13/seniors; $10 College; $8 Children (age 3-12) and WRHS Members are free. Admission to the program is included with Cleveland History Center general admission. Guests are invited to come early or stay after to explore all the museum exhibit galleries, including History in Their Hands: Black Photographers in Cleveland, Ohio 1968-present. Amanda D. King is featured in this inaugural exhibit open now in the African American History Gallery.
