Artists Archives of the Western Reserve invites you to join us for an opening evening of art that runs the gamut from whimsical to dark, conceptual to silly puns, and slapstick to ironic.
Curated by George Kocar, this exhibit features 32 artists working in a variety of media.
Concurrently with this exhibition will be a retrospective for Kocar himself. This is his Inaugural Archived Artist solo exhibition spanning his career, and includes recent works as well as drawings, published works, and early works. A native of Ohio, he received his BFA from Cleveland State University and his MFA from Syracuse University. He had a very successful career as an illustrator both in New York City and working here in NEO at American Greetings. Kocar became an Archived Artist in 2019.
These exhibitions will be on display from November 14, 2024 – January 11, 2025.
The Opening Reception will be Thursday, November 14 from 5:30 – 8 pm.
